Q. HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO DO THE JOB?
A. A small job (2-4 rooms) usually takes about 2 ½ to 3 hours. A large job (5 or more rooms) usually takes between 4 and 6 hours, sometimes more. Unlike the more common carpet cleaning companies whose goal is often to get in and out as quickly as possible, our goal is to take our time and insure that your carpets get as clean as possible.
Q. HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO DRY?
A. It usually takes between 8 to 24 hours to dry depending upon many factors including temperature, humidity, thickness of the carpet and ventilation. However, you can walk on it as soon as we’re done. Just be careful not to slip when going from damp carpet onto a hard surface.
Q. WHAT KIND OF CHEMICALS DO YOU USE?
A. We use top-of-the-line cleaning products consistent with industry standards and manufacturers recommendations. Our chemicals are environmentally friendly, and OSHA and EPA compliant.
Q. DO YOU MOVE ALL THE FURNITURE?
A. We will move some furniture within reason like sofas, tables and chairs, however we will not move furniture where there is a chance of causing damage like heavy dressers, beds, china cabinets, electronics, pianos, and excessively heavy furniture that may incur injury to our technicians.
Q. WILL THE PRICE CHANGE?
A. We don’t like surprises and we know you don’t. So, when you call New Life for an estimate, in addition to noting the areas you need cleaned, we ask a series of questions which will help detect any conditions which may involve an extra charge. Upon arriving to your home or business we will walk the job and provide a firm estimate prior to any work being started.
Q. DO YOU DO CHEM-DRY OR CHEMICAL CLEANING?
A. No as chemical dry cleaning is not recommended by most carpet manufacturers. Chemical Dry cleaning actually will polish the fiber giving it an appearance of being clean, however it does not effectively remove the soil from your carpets. Chemical dry cleaning will also leave a residue in your carpet, which will attract dirt quicker and require more frequent cleaning.
Q. WHAT TYPE OF EQUIPMENT DO YOU USE?
A. At New Life we use both Rotovac Power Wand units with very Powerful Portable Extractors, which deliver a high-pressure solution (Between 100 PSI and 200 PSI) at 200 degrees F. Our extractors are equipped with Multiple Stage Vacuums which will insure that 95% of the solution is recovered leaving your carpets incredibly clean with very little moisture remaining in your fibers.
Q. DO FABRIC PROTECTORS REALLY WORK?
A. There’s a common misconception about Fabric Protection. It won’t prevent your carpet from getting dirty, however it will extend the life of your carpets between cleaning. Its purpose is to protect your carpet from permanent stains and prolong the life of the fabric, which it does very well if properly applied.
Q. DO YOU TREAT PET STAINS AND ODORS?
A. Yes, we thoroughly treat pet stains and odors using an acid flush which effectively removes the urine from your carpet. In sever cases, we will replace the padding, treat the flooring, disinfect and deodorize the carpet.
Q. DO YOU DO CARPET REPAIRS AND RE-STRETCHING?
A. Yes, we do most carpet repairs including stain removal, carpet dying, patching, seam repairs and re-stretching. It’s a great idea to keep some scrap carpet handy after you get your carpet installed in the event that you need to someday replace a damaged area.
